Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN DAY! After a long "Halloween time" it is finally Halloween day!
My pumpkin wanted a pumpkin on his face...very original Harlow

Kelti mi Schmelti did so good. He was a happy little camper along for the ride.
We went trick-or-treating to a pet shop and got to see and touch some birds. Harlow wanted to hold it but every time he tried to he got too scared. I bent down and held the bird and it's squaked in my face. Both Harlow and I jumped.
Painting his free pumpkin
He wasn't scared of the Grim Reaper but he was scared of the big giant white Coca-Cola polar bear?!

We love Amanda! Amanda and I played one-on-one with Harlow and Kelton - so grateful for all her help!

Every year Provo does free trick-or-treating down on Center Street for its families. Amanda met me and the boys down there and we had a blast together. There were quite a few pumpkins there...I guess I didn't realize it was such a popular Halloween costume.  But I've got to say, I think my boys and costumes were the cutest...just a mother's opinion

After we went trick-or-treating down Center Street we came back to our house to meet daddy and Sara and Spencer for some yummy chili before heading out to do more trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

We don't get many trick-or-treaters around our place...I still have a whole bowl of candy left over...I need to find a way to get rid of it or I'll eat it.

It was fun to go trick-or-treating all together and go to our good friends in the wards houses.  Everyone loved the boys pumpkin costumes! (that made me feel good.  I sure had fun making them)

I was a witch but I didn't have the typical pointed hat, so I'm not sure how many people got what I was. But no matter, it was fun. Thanks Aunt Meridee, for always having your Witches Tea. That's what the hat was created for and what the outfit was born from. I completely made to help myself as well. I've got to say, I'm pretty darn proud of it.

We finished off the night by watching The Nightmare Before Christmas. (this is one of Harlow's favorite movies. No, he's not scared of it. I'm not sure why. He gets afraid of some Mickey Mouse episodes but he's not afraid of The Nightmare Before Christmas… I have no idea)

6 Month Pictures

Photography by Becca Laing
Thank You!!

Harlow & Brielle

I love you/I hate you...yup, about sums up their relationship

There are plenty of hugs, kisses, hits, and pushes going on between these two crazy toddlers of ours.  They make life so much fun and keep us on our toes!  It is funny to see how different they are, maybe its just their personalities or maybe its just the difference between boys and girls, and oh man, do they act their part.  Brielle is fun and cutesy and Harlow like guns and roaring!  So So So different, and that's nothing that we've taught him, he's just always liked cars, bugs,  wrestling, dirt, growling...
My boy is all boy!

They play better with each other when someone else is there playing with them...but we can't really do that very well in the photo shoots.   So here's a cute picture that Becca snagged while they were grabbing Kelton's prop balnket.  I could just eat these two up

6 Months Old

I can't believe Kelton is getting so big. He is such a happy and smiley baby. Harlow calls him "Kelti mi Shmelti".

He is still not sitting up yet. He is long, mostly with a long torso. I think it is hard for him to have the muscles to hold that long torso up. He is starting to go up on his hands and knees which is something that Harlow really didn't do very much. (Harlow walked and did the traditional crawl at about the same time and that was just about when he turned one. He did a cute little Scooch the whole time before that.) I am realizing that I am actually going to have to baby proof this time.

Kelton is very interested in all the food that we eat. So far he likes everything we've given him. I don't know that he has a favorite. He has had rice, bananas, cucumbers, squash (oh yeah, he loves the squash, probably his favorite), apple sauce, and grapes.

He wakes up two times a night. Once around one and once around five. I am about to move him into our spare room so that maybe I can sleep better and so he doesn't wake Harlow up.

He is such a good natured baby, especially for his mommy. He takes a bottle, which has been nice the times that I needed it. (Just breast milk, not formula)

Allergic to Deer

Our little Harlow boy has an interesting allergy - deer! Who would have guessed, right?

Nathan drew out a buck tag this year so last weekend we met Grandma and Grandpa Andersen (Mike & Jill) near Ely, Nevada to do the deer hunt.  (Uncle Greg and Taylor drew out too in the same area so they came too.)

Nathan got his deer and the next day Taylor got his.  Nathan and Mike jumped in to help Taylor with his deer and since we hadn't taken pictures with Nathan's deer we posed with Taylor's.  Harlow picked up the antlers and afterward touched his face.  Both eyes swelled up, nearly shut.  It was right as we were packing up so we helped get him taken care of then were on our way home.  His eyes got gooped shut, which kinda scared him.  In Nephi we were able to get some benedryl and dinner.  His eyes, though significantly better, stayed swollen a few days.  Within the week he and Nathan were out doing yard work and he found Nathan's antlers.  I was at a RS activity when I got the above picture in a text.  I thought he had fallen in the tub and hit his face on the water spout, nope, it was the antlers again.  There have been no effects to his respiratory system at all, so we are very grateful for that and we now have all sorts of benedryl and eye drops for this guy.  ((So, to be honest, we are guessing but still pretty sure that its the deer dander or something similar, but I guess it could be anything that was out there that both deer happened to rub on them...I guess only more eyes like this will tell))
