FIRST DOCTORS APPOINTMENT!!

FIRST DOCTORS APPOINTMENT!!
July 29th, 2011   9:20 am

Nathan and I could hardly sleep, the excitement and questions and unknowns going through our heads with our appointment being the next morning.  We arrived to our appointment at Valley OB/GYN on time but still had to wait for 30 minutes or so.  Even that was fun because we got to watch all these women and their cute prego bellies come in and out, Dad's following them with their ultrasound pictures trailing behind them, big smiles on all of our faces :)  Its true! We're going to be a Mommy and Daddy!

Nathan thinks we are going to have twins.  Are they in my family....nope, but we'll see if that's what Heavenly Father has in mind for us...It would be totally exciting if we were!  Heck, we're just excited to be having our very own baby!!  We went in today hoping to be able to hear the baby's little heart beat but I am 9 weeks and 4 days pregnant...just a tiny bit too early :(  We were totally bummed...but Sara said it best "That's alright, that'll make it 10 times more exciting next time!" and she's right.  We met with N.P. Christy Jorgensen who was sweet and made me feel nice and comfortable.  I think I'm going to like this office very much.  I was referred to Valley OB/GYN by many people all of whom spoken extremely high of all the Doctors and the practice itself.  So far I am pleased. Our next appointment on August 23rd at 4pm with M.D. Jeffrey C. Broberg. (*Valley OB/GYN is a group practice of 7 doctors and 3 nurse practitioners.  Each appointment will be with another dr. so that's we'll get the chance to meet all of them hopefully.  Because whoever is on call on the Big Day will be the one delivering our sweet little one)
Our baby is about the size of a grape now, its limbs are fully formed  and even its eyes, though they are still covered with tissue.  Everything is nearly in place and there now it's time to become more defined and perfect!  So here's me, feeling tired but not too sick (Thank Goodness!) and feeling fat even though I shouldn't...not tons of weight gain just feeling full and wide and .... yea, not so fun feelings....

"Good bye body, Hello" new world of adventures for my body, me and our family!!
**9 Weeks and 4 days**

G-mail is taking over and I am yet another victim

So Nathan thought it would be a good idea and high time I updated my e-mail address from the one I created my freshman year in High School vblizzyr@hotmail.com to a more professional/adult one so that I could look more official and adultish for work and other such adult-type things...So I'm letting you all know now that I have done just that.  You'd be surprised how hard it is to have one with your name in it when your name is as uncommon as Elizabeth Andersen... I know I must be the only one out there...So I spelled my name the way Nathan likes it spelled, with two z's: ZZ  and don't forget that's spelled with an SEN too.  So here it is:

lizzandersen@gmail.com

So there you go, I've made the change.  I'm getting all grown up, having babies, and getting myself a big girl e-mail :)

Our Family is Growing!!!

So we have a little bit of exciting news...OUR FAMILY IS GROWING!!
Nathan and I took an at home pregnancy test a few weeks ago but sometimes you don't really even need the stick to let you know that 'cause your body does a pretty good job at that, haha!  We have our first doctors appointment on July 29th.  I'll be 9 1/2 weeks along!

I woke up the morning and was excited and nervous to take the test.   Nathan kept telling me "you know your pregnant Lizz." Haha, he was right!  I've been really lucky so far because I haven't been very sick.  I've thrown up once on the 4th of July...almost in Ruth Knapp's van as she gave us a ride to the parade.  I had to hurry and quickly jump out of the car at the stop light.  I was embarrassed but at least I didn't hurl IN her car.  I finished that job on our walk to where the family was sitting...yuck!  I hate throwing up!  Other than that I have felt great.  A little nauseous sometimes but if I eat a little something it goes away.

Here's Mr. Future Dad on the phone with his parents.  He had told them that he needed to take and pass a calculus test in order to take the summer course.  His family was all going to Tahoe the next week.  If he didn't pass he couldn't take the class but we'd get to go to Tahoe...either way was an up for us. Nathan started out by telling them about this test he needed to take and then said "and Liz took her test this morning and did really well on it."  They didn't know I was suppose to take any test so they were curious about what test that was... "yea...her pregnancy test."  Mom squealed, Dad cried!  They're going to be Grandma and Grandpa now!!  My parents were ecstatic too!  Tears of joy on all sides as we celebrated the good news all together-it's all about family, isn't it?!

We went over to Becca and LeGrand's to celebrate Adelyn's 8th birthday and for her present we told her that she was going to have a new little cousin.  The shocked look on the kids faces was so fun and they all started squealing and jumping to give us hugs!  When we came home we found a basket of fruit and note on our side doorstep...

The basket came with oranges, apples, peaches and bananas (all my favorite).  We couldn't, for the life of us, figure out who had dropped off this sweet treat...Who knew we were expecting?!  We have told hardly anyone...late the next day it dawned on me that it must be my sweet Grandma Larsen. And that's exactly who it was :)

We are so excited about being pregnant!!  Its exciting and scary, thrilling and nerve racking, you don't feel prepared but looking forward to the challenge, wondering if this is really happening and grateful that it will take 9 months for this little one to make its debut!
WE ARE GOING TO BE A MOM AND DAD!!!!!!!
HOORAY!!
