The Red White & Blue

My fun patriotic nails...sorry, this was before I cleaned them up.

Amanda joined our festivities.

This was the last time I'll see Paul for a while. He is headed off to Yale for Architecture school.  I'm going to miss this little brother of mine.  We are different but close and I just love him to pieces.  He is going to do amazing things and have so many fun adventures out there these next few years!  I am very excited for him.

The boys didn't cry with the fireworks, not even Kelton.  It was fun to watch Harlow enjoying the sparklers and the huge fireworks that were going on all around us.  Some of us were talking about how much fireworks have changed since we were kids in the fact that the only big ones you were able to see were the ones put up at stadiums and special venues.  Now they're available to all of us.  The result, a sky literally filled with bright, loud explosions of joy! :)  I love watching fireworks, can you tell?!  Carl lit off my Grandpa Larsen's cannon - that thing is loud - it brought back fun memories of that cannon when I was a young girl and of my Grandpa.

As you can imagine it ended up being a late night.  But it was fun to be with family and celebrate and be grateful for our independence.
