This year in the garden we grew our own pumpkins!! It was fun to watch the vine grow and twist and take up half the garden. As it was only my second year gardening ever I have again found things out that I won't be doing again next year...like planting my pumpkins, spaghetti squash, and butternut squash all right by each other and having smaller plants between them...not such a great idea...oh well, there's always next year.
They are still somewhat green but will orange up with time and will be great jack-o-lanterns this year for Halloween. We were able to grow 5...we were actually able to grow about 9 but the darn deer came in and helped themselves plentifully to my entire garden this year...don't bring it up...sore subject
Harlow liked picking and transporting them to the front yard with me. He also loved touching them. I love watching him discover this amazing world that we live in. He wants to see everything, put it in his mouth, touch it with his fingers. Watching him I find new joy in simple tasks and object, sights and sounds. Having a child is an incredible thing!
